Chris Watkins is a talented 3D Generalist hailing from Boulder Colorado. He graduated from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, with a degree in Computer Animation in late 2005. Shortly after graduation, he returned to Colorado to begin his career as a 3D artist, doing photo-real architectural rendering and interior designs for presentations, design studies, and publications.

In 2008, he relocated to Dallas where he has continued to add valuable experience and expertise in the areas of Real Time Graphics and Interactive Media, with a specific focus on Modeling and Texturing. His personable traits and strengths, outside of computer graphical areas, landed him in a leadership role where he has honed his team building abilities, as well as numerous management software programs.

In December of 2014, Chris took a leap of faith. Relocating to Vancouver to pursue his dream of working in the film industry. What started out as a short term contract at MPC has turned into a long lasting career with a very bright future.

In 2019, Chris was promoted to Lead Environment artist at Digital Domain 3.0. To this day, Chris continues with a group of talented artists, exceeds the expectations of clients, pushes company standards to new heights, while having a blast in the process!

 

Outside of his passion for film and television, Chris enjoys staying active. He has extensive abilities in Mixed Martial Arts, but most recently has been participating in Crossfit and honing his physical skills. He has also played paintball for many years, enjoying the team camaraderie, and still participates from time to time. On his lazy days he loves to experiment in the kitchen with numerous regional cooking styles and is an avid moviegoer, enjoying most any genre. Another passion for Chris is his love for the outdoors and his enthusiasm for camping whenever he has the opportunity to “head for the hills.”
